Oregon Right to Life Education Contest Highlights

Chesterton Academy students will travel to the Oregon March for Life on Saturday, May 30. Prior to the march, they will join fellow Chesterton schools from across Oregon for the annual “Chesterton’s Unite” gathering, a day of study, fellowship, and shared witness with students from around the state.

For more than 50 years, pro-life advocates of all ages have gathered at the Oregon March for Life to remember the innocent lives lost to abortion and to stand for the dignity of every human life. We ask that you keep our students in your prayers for safe travels and a faith-filled, memorable experience.

We are also proud to recognize four Chesterton students who submitted entries to the Oregon Right to Life Education Foundation Contest this year. The 2026 contest theme was “Support Her, Protect Them.”

  • Breanna Fessler ’27 and Benjamin Fessler ’29 submitted essays and earned 2nd place and 1st place, respectively, at the Jackson County level in their grade categories.

  • Charlotte Conkey ’29 and Caitlin McCarthy ’27 submitted artwork entries. Both students won 1st place in Jackson County in their grade categories.

  • Caitlin McCarthy ’27 went on to earn 2nd place at the state level for her artwork.

The winning entries may be viewed at https://www.ortl.org/2026-contest-winners/

Congratulations to all of our students for representing Chesterton with excellence, creativity, and conviction.
